The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has awarded MARC, Madison Area Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. $29,122 to improve technology at MARC. This funding is part of a total of $17.3 million awarded to 69 organizations statewide. These grants are intended to improve Medicaid home and community-bases services that help older adults or those who have disabilities.

The purpose of MARC’s technology project is to increase access to various media outlets. MARC will purchase projectors for 6 locations to utilize in conjunction with computers and tablets. The projectors will allow for more than one individual to be able to comfortably view the computer screen at a time. It will also create a better learning experience for participants with visual impairments.

MARC is extremely grateful to DHS for the funding for updated technology for use in the services offered at MARC. The mission and purpose of MARC is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, and the best way to accomplish this is with enhanced technology. MARC has researched the most appropriate and cost-effective computers, tablets, and devices. Technology is rapidly advancing and MARC’s goal is to update our offerings of communication, community, and activities by updating our current technology to allow for vast exploration of our world through media.
